The main point of this entire spot here are on the internets is to get every one of you pretty friends to see JUST how GORGEOUS YOU ARE. I am not just some inspiration quote here – it’s 100% true because the Lord specifically made you that way. Don’t mistake that for what I am sharing below, K?
You see, He also made a few other things that help us out too :). I am going to chat today about a few things and actions that you should be adding or have already in your day to day life to make you feel more beautiful, like you have your shiz together, and take your confidence up a level or five :). I am allllll about the little things that make me feel better when I walk by a mirror and not cringe – we all do it. I also know that confidence in our looks helps us in every relationship in our lives – from willing to meet friends for lunch or drinks to our relationship with our husbands (yes I mean sex). This can be a game changer for everyone. This is another installment in my adventure of making this year the year that you loved you! Here we go with my 3 difference makers, in no particular order!
My first difference maker is tan. Yep. It’s a fact. When we have some color, we feel SO much better, pretty, and skinnier. Now, this does not mean go to the tanning bed or bake outside – HELL TO THE NO. Do you hear me? We don’t have to anymore y’all. Self tanning has come a LONG way. It’s a complete 180 from where it started, even from a couple years ago. I am not good about this either, but trying to make it a priority in 2019. Yes, I feel ridiculous saying that I am making a tan a priority, but I don’t care HA! Open your minds to spray tans – this is my fave because it easy and fast. You can choose the level of darkness and it lasts for 3-5 days. They can be expensive though. I actually pay for unlimited monthly so I really have no excuse. There are many tanners in a bottle that are so much easier than you think. The smell is better, the color is more natural, and they don’t streak hardly at all. My favorite is the gradual ones – and they are best for beginners. Essentially they are a lotion that you put on every morning or maybe ever other morning. You rub it in good like a lotion and get dressed as usual. Throughout the day, you get slightly darker. And then as you add applications, you get darker. This way allows you to build your tan and take baby steps. I honestly think this is the most natural way as it is not a fast tan. There are needs for a fast tan and that is when a spray tan is best – or my favorite foaming self tanner is the RF one. A new trend is tanning drops! You just add a few drops to every application of lotion and it is like the gradual ones! Don’t forget about your face too – you can apply self tanners to your face, but you need to get a special one for your face so you don’t negate your skincare routine or break out. So here is what I am doing: I use this gradual tanner daily and I am loving the color and ease of it. I am still trying to master my feet – but it will come with time (that is a major tip – you will look splotchy on dry spots like feet at first, don’t give up – you will get better). There is a slight smell at the end of the day – but nothing like a spray tan or self tanner. It is a pretty good price – I want to get to the point of using it every other day once I have a solid color or start getting spray tans regularly. This is an expensive gradual that I almost bought but I am trying the cheaper one first. It is supposedly the creme de la creme – and I will probably buy it next time to see for myself. It claims no smell – that could be a big deal! I also add these drops to my daily moisturizer and I am LOVING it – it is the same brand as the expensive gradual lotion. They are not oily at all and the color is subtle and perfect. I can make it darker if I want by adding more drops – but right now just adding 2-3. I have also heard really good things about the Jergens gradual lotion too – that would be the most affordable option (just a bit cheaper than the one I am currently using though) and you can find that at the grocery store WIN WIN HA- but that would be a good place to start if you are apprehensive. If you have any questions about application or my tips and tricks – message me because I like to consider myself well versed in this subject HA! (note: a tan is not a requirement to feel beautiful, I am just sharing that this small thing makes a difference for me in hopes to help a few of you :).
My second difference maker is a skincare routine. Yeah yeah yeah, the chick that sells the skincare is telling you this. But hear me out. This is not an RF sales pitch. This is a face pitch :). WAY too many of us are going to bed with make up on and using our husband’s body wash to wash our face in the shower. (been there, done that). I had no idea what confidence would come from taking care of my face with skincare would bring. I was a naysayer too – thought it was all overpriced. Now I stand corrected. Here is what I want y’all to do: establish a night time routine and a daytime routine. It does not have to be expensive or a dozen steps. For nighttime you need a quick way to wash the day and makeup away – this can be a quick cleanser or if you have to – good makeup wipes. Then you need a moisturizer and even more important, an eye cream. You will go to bed feeling fresh and gorgeous, promise. Oh and a lip product – even if it is just chap stick. Then your daytime routine should include a cleanser in the shower and a hydrating moisturizer. It can be the same one you used at night if you have to. Dry skin not only cracks, peels, and hurts – it also causes breakouts. I know that seems weird, but more moisture in your face prevents all of that. You can make these steps short and simple, but they will be game changers for that face you see in the mirror. Make me a promise – you will ask your friends and start looking at products and commit to do doing this for 60 days and see what it does and how it makes you feel. Also – if you want to check out RF – you know where to find me – I can hook you up with a good deal and no commitment 🙂
Last, but certainly not least – DRINK MORE WATER! Ok this was another one that I didn’t believe until I tried it. Drinking half your body weight in ounces of water every day will change EVERYTHING! You will feel slimmer, you will feel more awake, your skin will look 100% better (not an actual proven number, but I would bet you it does), you will sleep better, and more. I mean come on – how wonderful would that be?! I know I know, you have to pee more – but that is good for you too! It takes some getting used to, so baby step into it. Start with half of what you need to drink every day for a week, and then add more. Before you know it – you will crave it and be throwing back bottles of water like its your job! Make it fun and get yourself a fun water bottle and keep it with you all day (some super cute ones in VDAY Guide)! I also found that room temperature water is easier to drink fast. And add a straw if you feel like you need to drink more at a time. Trust me on this one – and you know all the experts and doctors HA! This will most definitely make you feel confident after you see how much better you feel.
Ok those weren’t too hard. I had to make myself stick to just three as I have a long list! Maybe if y’all like this I can do it more often with the changing seasons! If you are struggling with spending money on yourself – I get it, but stop it. I can help you find things that are inexpensive and make this happen for you – LETS DO IT.
Love today’s post. I hope you make this a series 😊
