We are home from Philly and had a wonderful trip! It is always sad to go, but fun coming home to Christmas and our puppies 🙂
I wanted to dedicate a whole post to our outfits from Philly and all the details- sound good?!
I get asked all the time how I stay organized and plan outfits for things like trips and holidays. Here is the deal- I am not really that organized – we were up until midnight the night before we left, packing 😬. But I do plan all outfits ahead of time. Meaning I literally write down each day we are gone, day and night, and each of our names (me and the kids, Shane is responsible for himself HA!) and fill in the outfits as I find and plan them. This helps me from overspending and overpacking. The few times I didn’t do this, I hated it. So it’s worth the effort. The same can be said for the holidays. I also have a sheet of paper with each event we have planned and all of our names. Then I fill in outfits. Again, this helps me keep me from not only overspending, but also ensuring that I don’t forget something. Not gonna lie, too many holidays have come and gone and I forgot to have someone wear a specific T-shirt or outfit – that sucks. This may all seem a bit much- BUT give it a try over the last few weeks of this year and tell me what you think after 😉.
Back to Philly – this year, I actually found many things for me and the kids on Amazon. I have been hesitant for a long time to purchase many clothes from there, but I figured I would never know if I didn’t try. For Philly, I like us to look Christmas-y the whole time and to be warm and comfy. Layers are key. We also have to dress up some. Lots and lots of pictures are taken☺️. It could cost me a fortune and every year I challenge myself not to spend too much AND to get things we will actually wear again ♥️.
So here are the the things we wore and pictures of outfits- I have links to them all below each pic 🙌🏼.
Travel outfits- spoiler alert! Yes i plan our outfits for the plane ride. Always have, always will 😉. Claire’s pullover (so cute and cozy) and my cardigan (LOVE it!) are both from Amazon. I got a large in mine – it fit great, but I kinda wish I got an XL so it would be a bit more oversized. Bree’s whole outfit is from Walmart 🙌🏼. Festive, but cozy- my kind of outfit.

Saturday – we went out and about in Philly! Super cold and lots of walking – cozy and comfort were both key. Claire is wearing my RB Verified Tunic, I am wearing one of my favorite new Amazon sweaters, and Bree is wearing a cute Christmas sweatshirt she loved on Amazon. Don’t forget to plan beanies, gloves and coats when preparing for outside things. Like I have mentioned before, we see that more than the actual outfit.

Saturday night- our big Christmas gala! Now I have to tell you that this was not my first outfit. I ordered a skirt off Amazon and was going to wear it with the gorg top Tara designer for Nordstrom. The top was perfect, the skirt….nope. I looked like a cupcake. So last minute I had to find something different. I got this jumper and LOVED it! So many compliments that night and it was so comfy. I also found these fabulous designer knockoff flats on Amazon! They did not hurt my feet and I plan to wear many more times 🙌🏼.
And here is the skirt that didn’t work!
Sunday morning- Family Christmas Brunch! I love this day. And I probably stress about outfits too much HA! Both me and Claire’s sweaters came from Amazon- hers is the one I wore the day before! Mine is a one size fits all. I kinda hoped it would be a bit bigger, but it was flattering and a beautiful color. Both of these sweaters some in many colors. Bree is wearing a Christmas plaid from Old Navy and Owen’s whole outfit is from Old Navy. I found Shane’s pullover on Amazon too.

Had another Amazon item that did NOT work. The pullover I wore home on the plane. It is a super cute, cozy pullover and I was excited to share….until we got to the airport and I realized that almost the whole back seam was out and I had a HUGE hole happening 🤦🏻♀️. No change of clothes and I am just dealing with it. My mom will easily be able to sew it back up- but I wanted to give y’all a heads up 👍🏼.
Let me know if I missed anything or if you have any sizing questions!
