One thing that is highly underestimated during the holidays is really small gifts and tokens of appreciation. Y’all know. It takes an army to feed the families. And don’t even get me started on what it takes to host at your house – that’s a LOT to take on. It’s worth it- but we need to make sure we are taking a moment to show some love for our cooks and hostesses!
This year I am going to make a conscious effort to love on all the women (or men!) in our families that cook for Thanksgiving and the ladies that host us. Thanks to Amazon, Walmart, and Target, this can be cheap and simple. Think about it – how amazing would it be to get a surprise gift just for making a dish for Thanksgiving?! I remember being young and SO looking forward to being a mama and bringing dishes to holiday dinners…and then I got older and HOLY COW its SO much work. We put all the pressure on ourselves to make a super tasty, Pinterest worthy dish, have to buy all the ingredients at the crazy ass grocery store, and then end up smelling like a stick of butter and sweating when you show up at Thanksgiving…and usually pissed because it didn’t turn out like you wanted- y’all feel me?!
So this year, let’s spread the love with some small tokens of appreciation. Gifts! Cards! Whatever you feel like! Fuzzy socks (everyone loves warm socks!), a blanket scarf, a coffee mug, some fall nail polish, or maybe a wine glass are all easy, and not too pricey ideas! Many can be bought in multi packs for an even better price. You can order it on Amazon, throw in some Fall ribbon to tie them up with and you are good to go! Oh and I created some printables for you to use as well ☺️. Don’t overthink it – don’t overwhelm yourself with it, just do it as a way of showing gratitude and take some time to get it done❤️. Below is a link to Amazon Faves that I found for you- I just order a couple packs of socks 😉- printables are below too!
I love this! I host Thanksgiving to between 20 and 30 family members and LOVE every single second, but I was laughing about smelling like a stick of butter…every time! I usually look a hot mess and am completely underdressed…hello comfy clothes…but I don’t even care, and either do my family! Thanksgiving is such a fun day!
I wish I would’ve seen something like this last year. My sister always hosted Thanksgiving, it was her favorite. She passed away almost 2 months ago and the thought of celebrating it makes me sick to my stomach, I can’t even fathom the though of it without her. I’m sure even a nail polish to show her I was thankful would have been enough for her. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving 💓
