Let’s chat hair! If y’all know me at all – you know I love big hair and my products. I have had probably every hair style known to man HA!, but I do love all things hair. I could have totally been a hair stylist in a different life :). I want to take a moment to share all of my secrets to styling hair and the products I LOVE! I have tried everything and these are my tried and true tips…
- Hands down, my favorite brushes for styling are by Spornette! They are the absolute BEST teasing brushes – BY FAR! I also use their round brush when I dry my hair and LOVE LOVE LOVE it too! They also are a great quality and mine last forever! I am really passionate about teasing brushes HA! I don’t tease as much as I used to now that my hair is growing out – but I do like to still give myself a bit of oomph every day with my teasing brush – treat yourself to these brushes and you will NOT be sorry!
- If I was stranded on a deserted island and could only take a few products with me, texturizing spray would be in my bag – no question! Texturizing spray is the key to getting that volume and “not fixed” look. I use it on my roots and I have been known to spray it throughout when my hair is falling flat. The other great thing about these sprays is that they are what allow you to skip washing your hair – they help your hair stay looking good day to day – it is a real thing y’all! Below are my three favorite sprays:
-
- FAVORITE is Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. It’s expensive but it does come in a huge bottle and worth every penny. It is light enough to not make your hair stiff – but really works. The smell is heavenly and once you use – you will have a hard time ever using again 🙂
-
- I also love Bumble and Bumble Dry Spun Finish – honestly it might give me more volume than the Oribe. It is what I buy when I run out and don’t have time to order the other – it is at Sephora and Ulta. It is not cheap and the bottle is small – so yeah that pisses me off – but it is amazing!
-
- I really love Dry Bar Triple Sec – the smell is AMAZING! It is so light, but packs a punch – I switch back and forth between it and the Bumble and Bumble.
- Mousse! A key to mega volume is a good mousse! If you want just bouncy hair and some volume – really get it in the roots. If you want big hair that will last you days – apply it all over – root to end. You can even put it in a wet brush and apply it that way. Also – wait to apply it until your hair is not soaking wet and its just damp – that is a game change! Here are a couple of my faves:
-
- Aquage is my favorite – amazing volume and easy to apply to roots
-
- Dry Bar Southern Bell Volumizing mousse is a close second – it smells amazing and gives such a great volume that is more like a blow out!
- Add on products that I love to create that lasting blow out look…
-
- Oribe Royal Blowout – OMG y’all. SO good, SO not cheap, but SO worth it! You mist a very small amount to your hair before drying (stay away from roots!), and you will be blown away at how not only how soft your hair is, but it will dry so much faster, AND look like you just got a blow out! My bottle just ran out and it is seriously 2 years old 🙂
-
- Bumble and Bumble Thickening Go Big Treatment – this is a brand new product that I have only been using for about a month and I really do like it. It is a spray that goes all over when your hair is wet/damp. I just feel like it makes my strands thicker and makes them style better – smells good too 🙂
- Dry Shampoos! I have dark hair so dry shampoo can honestly be a pain in the ass. Here are my faves right now – but I am not married to any of them – they do work though! I honestly end up using my texturizing sprays instead.
- I use cheap hairsprays and shampoo/conditioner. We go through so much in this house – it just makes sense for us.
Ok that’s my list! Did I miss anything? Let me know if you try any of these products – I would love to know if you like them too! Below is a link to all my hair faves in one stop shop on amazon – they links are within this post too 🙂
TWO MORE THINGS! Uploading a tutorial on IG TV of how I curl my hair!! Fun! Also, I am giving away a bottle of the Oribe product! Make sure you head over to my IG to enter ☺️
I swear you were in my living room last night with this post!! I was just saying that my hair has gone flat… it had body and frizz and curled with anything I put hot to my head. But I used some high end shampoo and conditioner to control frizz and it literally took all of my volume away for a year. It’s gone! I just told my sister i was going to ask for some volume hair tips! (Can’t ask mg hair girl she sells the stuff that took away my volume!
I have use the texture spray from a sample. Loved it maybe I should get some more.
I love texturizing spray. I also love a good teasing brush. Also, I love using Puff Me dust on my hair at the roots. I have never tried the Oribe spray, I should though! Thanks for sharing, I am always looking for new products!
